Darryl Washington, Chairman
Darryl Washington is a professional economic developer with over 25 years of extensive experience in providing solutions to complex business problems which lead to vibrant placemaking. He currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Urban Impact Inc., an economic development agency responsible for the preservation and revitalization of Birmingham's Historic 4th Avenue and Civil Rights Business Districts.
Darryl has a Master’s degree in Public and Private Management from Birmingham Southern College. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Morehouse College.
Darryl is an active member of several professional and civic organizations including: Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve -President-Board of Directors, Irondale Parks and Recreation Committee, International Economic Development Council, Economic Development Association of Alabama, American Marketing Association, Prince Hall Masonic Lodge (Archive 75), Holiday Gardens Neighborhood Association –Vice President, Morehouse College Alumni Association, Telephone Pioneers of America, Jory's Journey Foundation and American Management Association.
Terrence Scott, Vice Chairman
Terrence Scott is currently a regional manager with Vipco. He has over fifteen years of experience in internet/online sales organizations working with multinational teams to exceed revenue and profit goals. His professional skill set includes: a proven track record of prospecting to target markets that produce an increase in market share, specialized skills in online sales to diverse-industry clients worldwide, strong command of business sales cycle, experience conducting business with online clients across the nation, expert relationship builder, sales manager and sales strategist.
Terrence oversees the Irondale CDA BusinessFirst program which is a proactive business outreach program designed to develop and improve relationships with current Irondale business enterprises. The program monitors the needs of businesses and provides local, regional, state and resources federal to help them achieve sustained business growth.
David Pugh is a partner for the law firm Bradley, Arant, Boult and Cummings. He works in the firm’s Construction and Procurement Practice Group. He is also a member of the firm’s Litigation and Intellectual Property Practice Groups.
David has an extensive background in engineering and construction. David studied civil engineering as an undergraduate at Vanderbilt University. During college, he worked for Chicago Bridge & Iron at its Memphis, Tennessee plant and for Georgia Power construction at Plant Vogtle near Augusta, Georgia. Upon graduation, David went to work for Harbert Construction as a project engineer. He then decided to return to law school to pursue a career in construction law.
Aaron Sims is a realtor with Keller Williams Realty Group. He's an accomplished leader with experience in operations and business development. His professional skills include; strong interpersonal skills, effective collaboration with stakeholders, and keen logistics acumen. He's also a critical thinker, ambitious self-starter, individual contributor and team player, creative problem solver, ready to embrace new challenges and make positive contributions.
Aaron leads all CDA efforts regarding real estate development and reuse projects. He also manages the Irondale CDA Scholarship Program which provides financial assistance to local Irondale college bound high school students.
David Rawson brings a solid professional background, immense business acumen and a proven community service track record to the Irondale CDA.
He’s a graduate of Mississippi State University and is currently employed by Guild Mortgage Company in the role of mortgage loan originator. Previously, he served as President of the Board of the Greater Irondale Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Exchange Club of Irondale.
Deena Crear, Office Manager
Deena Crear serves as the Irondale CDA office manager where she oversees all the operational and administrative functions of the organization. She has extensive professional and academic experience which is vital to the operational efficiency of the Irondale CDA. In addition to her roles as office manager, she performs all secretarial, property management and book keeping duties for the CDA board of directors.
Additionally, she serves as the primary support manager for the Irondale on the MOVE executive director and the advisory committee.
Deena received her Bachelors of Science degree from Faulkner University where she majored in Criminal Justice and Human Services. She's previously held executive support positions at B.L. Harbert and BBVA Compass Bank.
